Terrebonne General | Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center was honored with a generous donation from Roux for a Reason, who recently presented a check for $40,000 to the Cancer Center. On June 7, 2021, the Roux for a Reason team hosted a golf tournament instead of their normal gumbo cook-off. The event was a great success, with nearly 300 golfers participating.
This donation is dedicated to funding a comprehensive nutrition program at Terrebonne General | Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. The program will provide a full-time Registered Dietitian on staff in the Cancer Center allowing every patient FREE access to education and nutrition support before and during their treatment.
The team is already planning for 2022 and will be returning to the gumbo cook-off format on March 19! More information can be found by visiting www.rouxforareason.org.
Roux for a Reason was founded by Ben Levy and Ben Floyd in honor of their fathers, Mr. Bernard Levy and Dr. John C. Floyd of Houma, Louisiana.
