Gulf Coast Orthopedics transformed their patient care approach to joint replacement surgery for hips, knees, and shoulders in 2019. Traditionally, patients were educated in a group setting; however, Gulf Coast Orthopedics changed to a more patient-driven approach. They went against the national standards and transformed their education experience into a more personalized approach. Instead of group settings, patients and their caretakers now meet with a Nurse Practitioner to review the surgery process, including what to expect before and during the surgery and long-term recovery plans. This one-on-one approach allows patients to freely ask questions, gain realistic expectations, and feel confident.

Joint replacements are efficient with low complication rates as the incisions are smaller, leading to shorter hospital stays and exceptional outcomes. Most patients can expect to be in surgery for just an hour. The surgeons at Gulf Coast Orthopedics have over 20 years of experience in total joint replacements – the most in the region.
