Terrebonne General Health System and ProxsysRX are excited to announce the Grand Opening of the Terrebonne General Pharmacy. The ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony was held on November 16 at 8:30 am in the Terrebonne General Medical Atrium. The full-service retail pharmacy will be a beneficial addition to the Health System and surrounding community. The pharmacy will provide a variety of services, including the "Meds to Beds" prescription delivery service, which allows patients to be discharged with their needed prescription medications.
“We are thrilled to offer this level of service to our patients and community,” said Phyllis Peoples, president and CEO of Terrebonne General. “Many patient lack access to get their prescribed medications and therefore are not able to fully recover. Now with our “Meds to Beds” program in place, patients will leave the hospital with their needed medications in hand so their post hospital recovery can start immediately.”
George Salem, CEO of Birmingham-based ProxsysRx — which owns and/or operates 26hospital-based retail pharmacies across the country — noted, “Terrebonne General Pharmacy has the largest retail space of any pharmacy we’ve opened to date, and we’re thrilled by the leadership we have in place. Our Pharmacist in Charge, Derel Smith, came to us from a regional grocery chain — where he was Director of Pharmacy Operations, in charge of more than 600 locations.”
Terrebonne General Pharmacy is now open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and offers over-the-counter medications, and curbside service along with many other items. For more information, call 985-333-2433.
