Mobile CARE Clinic Endowment
Help us transform healthcare in the Bayou Region.
The Foundation for Terrebonne General is laying the groundwork to help our local Health System further services in our community. To assist our Health System care for those who are underserved in our community, the Foundation funded a new Mobile CARE Clinic, which is already performing hundreds of screenings in our community. Early screening is the single greatest tool to detect chronic disease and risk factors to prevent or lessen the impact or severity of the disease.
Our Mobile CARE Clinic Makes an Impact
The Mobile CARE Clinic brings important healthcare services across the Bayou Region specifically to individuals who may not have transportation or who don’t have easy access to care. In its first year, our clinicians have screened hundreds of individuals in our community including the Pointe-au-Chien Indian Tribe and seafood industry workers and their families at our Dockside Clinics. Of those screened at our clinics, we detected 40% with high blood pressure, 49% with high cholesterol, and 14% with high blood sugar. Seven of the individuals screened in the first year needed emergency care.
The immediate need of the Mobile CARE Clinic and its potential, especially in times of natural disasters, is the reason why Foundation Board members decided to develop the Mobile CARE Clinic Endowment. The Endowment will provide the necessary funding to continue to offer health screenings and expand clinic offerings in perpetuity.
Help us continue to provide these services to our community by donating to the endowment.
